Pakistan slams Indian PM’s speech as provocative, dangerous for regional peace

Pakistan has issued a strong rebuke to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi following his recent national address, condemning his remarks as inflammatory, provocative, and dangerous for regional peace.

The statement, released by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, accuses India of deliberate escalation and spreading disinformation, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

"Pakistan categorically rejects the provocative and hate-filled statements made by the Indian Prime Minister during his recent address," the Foreign Ministry said. "At a time when international efforts are focused on promoting peace and stability in the region, such rhetoric marks a dangerous escalation, rooted in disinformation, political opportunism, and a blatant disregard for international law."

The ministry criticised what it called India’s attempt to construct misleading narratives as a pretext for aggression. It reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to recent ceasefire agreements and affirmed Pakistan's willingness to work toward de-escalation and regional stability.

"This ceasefire was achieved through the efforts of several friendly countries who called for de-escalation," the statement noted. "Portraying Pakistan as desperate or disappointed in seeking peace is a gross misrepresentation and a deliberate falsehood."

Officials further warned that New Delhi’s actions could set a perilous precedent.

"India’s behaviour reflects the mindset of a revisionist actor determined to disrupt strategic stability in South Asia, regardless of the consequences," the statement said. "Even more troubling is India’s framing of the cold-blooded killing of civilians — many of them women and children — and its reckless escalation as a ‘new normal’ for the region."

Concluding the statement, Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to international norms and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

"Pakistan rejects these baseless claims entirely. The only legitimate norm is adherence to the UN Charter — a standard Pakistan has upheld in its steadfast defence of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people," the statement said.
