Energy Security and Net Zero Secretary Ed Miliband could become the United Kingdom’s next foreign secretary in a future government led by Andy Burnham, The Sunday Times reports.
According to the newspaper, Miliband had previously been expected to take over as chancellor. However, the report suggests that the Treasury is now likely to be headed by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood.
The publication also said that Lucy Powell, deputy leader of the governing Labour Party, is expected to become deputy prime minister.
Meanwhile, former Transport Secretary Louise Haigh is reportedly set to take up the post of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, a senior ministerial role often described as a minister without portfolio.
