Samad Bashirli, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, met with Dmitry Mariyasin, Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
The meeting underscored the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations, as well as the country’s collaboration with UNECE in advancing sustainable development. The officials also emphasized UNECE’s support for fostering practical cooperation within the United Nations Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).
The officials discussed ways to enhance cooperation within SPECA and next steps in this regard, as well as the activities of the SPECA Multi-Partner Trust Fund, opportunities to expand the fund’s donor base and mobilize additional financial resources.
