Türkiye to host first-ever meeting of Turkic States’ parliamentary friendship groups

Chairman of the Committee of Healthcare of the Azerbaijani parliament Ahliman Amiraslanov has said that the first-ever meeting of the parliamentary friendship groups from member states of the Organisation of Turkic States is set to take place in Istanbul, Türkiye on May 5-6.

Amiraslanov, who is also the leader of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Inter-Parliamentary Relations Working Group, made these remarks during his participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

Amiraslanov explained that the main focus of the meeting will be on discussing the challenges facing the region and exploring potential solutions.

He stated, "In particular, we will address the coordination of activities between the parliaments of Turkic states.

The forum will also address critical issues, such as Azerbaijan's efforts to restore stability in the South Caucasus, ongoing negotiations for a peace agreement with Armenia, the return of Western Azerbaijanis to their homeland, and other important matters."

Additionally, the Azerbaijani MP highlighted that Azerbaijan is looking forward to hosting the second such meeting in the future, further strengthening ties and cooperation within the Turkic states.
