Hungarian political strategist Zoltán Egeresi evaluated the state of Azerbaijan-Hungarian relations during his visit to Baku, noting that the bilateral ties were currently experiencing their "golden age."
The analyst at the John Lukacs Institute of Strategy and Policy within the Ludovika University in Budapest spoke to local media on the sidelines of the 7th ADA University Policy Forum that is taking place on April 9 in Baku.
“Hungary and Azerbaijan enjoy special bilateral ties in the energy sector. In recent years, major Hungarian energy companies have actively invested in Azerbaijan’s energy industry. Moreover, Azerbaijan supplies gas to Hungary, which is especially important amid the current energy crises in Europe,” Egeresi emphasized.
According to the Hungarian analyst, it is thanks to Azerbaijan’s strategic location, its energy reserves as well and the strong political relations that Hungarian-Azerbaijani relations are becoming increasingly dynamic, particularly in regards to economic initiatives.
The Hungarian guest noted that Azerbaijan set up a clear strategy covering key aspects of foreign policy, including energy, security, and geopolitics—not only in the context of the South Caucasus and Central Asia but also in neighbouring regions.
He concluded his remarks to the press by stating that he believes Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, especially in a time of global disorder, will enable the country to effectively handle future challenges.
