Azerbaijan’s national beach wrestling team has won the World Series Final in Katerini, Greece, for the first time in the country’s history, President of Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Mikayil Jabbarov said on X.
Axar.az reports that Jabbarov noted that Vusal Aliyev (80 kg) and Ashraf Ashirov (90 kg) won gold medals. Rubail Ibrahimli (70 kg), Sahib Dadashov (80 kg) and Jamal Feyziyev (+90 kg) claimed bronze medals.
"We congratulate all our wrestlers, their parents, personal coaches, and federation representatives, led by Oyan Nazariani, who was named the world’s best head coach and played a key role in this success, and wish them continued success in future competitions," Jabbarov wrote.
