Official: CEPA to boost innovation, investment between Azerbaijan, UAE

The newly signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates will lay the groundwork for a sustainable, knowledge-based, and innovation-driven economy capable of meeting future challenges, Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said.

Commenting on the deal on his official X account, Jabbarov described the agreement as a significant milestone in the strategic partnership between the two nations, emphasising its role in deepening economic cooperation and liberalising trade, Caliber.Az reports.

Signed during President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to the UAE and his meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the CEPA aims to create new opportunities for bilateral investment and collaboration across critical sectors. These include industry, agriculture, renewable energy, finance, tourism, logistics, and construction.

Jabbarov added that the agreement will also help to strengthen business ties between the two countries’ private sectors.
