A senior military advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has declared that the country has stockpiled several thousand missiles and drones in secure locations, ready to respond to any military aggression.
Speaking on July 7, Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi said the Iranian Armed Forces are fully prepared for any potential scenario, amid growing speculation that Israel may launch a new attack despite a ceasefire that halted 12 days of hostilities last month, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
“We have produced several thousand missiles and drones so far, and their place is secure,” Rahim-Safavi said.
He emphasised that key units—including the Iranian Navy and the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)—did not fully engage in the previous confrontation, and the Army did not utilize its full operational capacity.
Highlighting Iran’s technological self-reliance, Rahim-Safavi stated that the country’s advancements in peaceful nuclear energy and missile development were achieved through “indigenous knowledge, intellect, and science,” and cannot be eliminated by external forces.
The general also launched a scathing critique of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him a “wicked and criminal” figure responsible for the deaths of 60,000 people in Gaza and nearly 1,000 in Iran.
Despite the losses, Rahim-Safavi maintained that Israel had failed to meet its objectives.
“The Islamic Republic was neither overthrown nor divided, and the people did not disperse. Although we suffered damage, we also inflicted damage on them [Israel],” he said.
The June conflict, sparked by Israel’s preemptive strikes on Iran’s Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan nuclear facilities, killed several senior IRGC commanders and nuclear scientists.
