On July 1, representatives from various countries gathered as guests of the Helsinki Azerbaijan House within the framework of the international dialogue platform “Nordic–Baltic & Caucasus Dialogue 2026” held in Finland.
Speaking at the meeting, which was organized at the invitation of the Azerbaijan House, the organization's head, Ulviyya Jabbarova, briefed participants on the history of the Azerbaijan House, its main areas of activity, and projects aimed at promoting the Azerbaijani language, culture, and national and spiritual values in Finland. She said the Helsinki Azerbaijan House was interested in further expanding its international partnerships and emphasized the importance of implementing joint projects in the fields of education, culture, youth policy, and civil society.
A video showcasing the Azerbaijan House's activities, international partnerships, and future plans was then screened.
The first presentation was delivered by Asif Asgarli, chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Student Youth Organization and a member of the Board of the New Azerbaijan Party, on the topic "Sustainable Youth Policy in Azerbaijan." He provided an overview of the country's youth policy, state programs, youth employment, educational opportunities, gender equality, international cooperation, and efforts in the field of sustainable development.
Gulnara Baghirova, executive director of the Azerbaijan Democratic Student Youth Organization, spoke about the organization's youth development projects, international cooperation programs, and future plans.
Addressing the issue of gender equality, she noted that Azerbaijan became the first Muslim country to grant women the right to vote, describing it as a historic milestone. She also emphasized that social, cultural, and urban development projects implemented on the initiative and with the support of First Vice-President and First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva have made a significant contribution to the country's development. In this context, she highlighted the transformation of Baku's former industrial district known as Black City into the modern White City as one of the country's successful urban development projects.
Valeriia Skaldina, media relations coordinator of the Femina ry organization, delivered a presentation on international cooperation, media literacy, strengthening youth civic engagement, and initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue among different countries.
Yevgeniya Senni Skaldina, a student at Yhtenäiskoulun Lukio and a youth media representative of Femina ry, spoke about the importance of youth participation in international projects, improving media literacy, and developing critical thinking skills.
Marianna Lipnicka, chair of the Latvian NGO Bioville and a specialist in education and sustainable development, delivered a presentation on environmental responsibility, the Sustainable Development Goals, projects aimed at expanding international partnerships, and future cooperation opportunities.
During the meeting, participants from Finland, Azerbaijan, Latvia, and other countries exchanged experiences and discussed youth policy, gender equality, media literacy, sustainable development, the role of civil society, and international cooperation. They also discussed the preparation of future joint projects, expanding the exchange of experience, establishing new partnerships, and strengthening cooperation among various organizations.
Mona Savojifar, the Finland coordinator, and Aylin Jabbarli, a member of the AzerTurk Youth Organization in Finland, contributed to organizing the event by assisting with guest reception, program coordination, and logistical arrangements.
The Nordic–Baltic & Caucasus Dialogue 2026 international dialogue platform was organized in Finland by the Femina ry organization and the Nordic–Baltic & Caucasus Dialogue platform. The Azerbaijani delegation's visit to Finland was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
