Strong earthquake jolts Afghanistan's Badakhshan

On February 25, 2026, at 16:12 local time, an earthquake occurred in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province.

The tremor registered a magnitude of 5.7, with a focal depth of 67 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports, citing Seismoprognoz Monitoring, Republic Markazi.

The quake was also felt in neighbouring Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
