Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan forge cultural bonds with new “Uzbekistan” park in Baku

The Presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, laid the foundation for the “Uzbekistan” park in Baku on July 2.

This cultural and recreational complex, a large-scale project, will create a unique environment showcasing the rich history, architecture, and culture of Uzbekistan, including the regions of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Kokand, Caliber.Az reports citing the official presidential website.

The park, covering an area of five hectares, will be designed in the shape of Uzbekistan’s map. It will feature a museum, cinema, amphitheatre, tower, restaurants and cafés offering traditional Uzbek cuisine, a commercial zone, souvenir and gift shops, a zoo, and a hotel.

The main architectural landmarks will be inspired by the styles of Bukhara, Samarkand, and Khiva.

The park, to be built in the White City district of the capital, symbolises the historic brotherhood and friendship between the peoples and states of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

The establishment of the park will further strengthen the cultural ties between our peoples.
