World Bank: Azerbaijan's budget will be in surplus over the next 5 years

Azerbaijan's state budget will be in surplus from 2025 to 2029, says the forecast of the World Bank (WB), APA-Economics reports.

The Bank's analysts predict that the share of the state budget surplus in GDP will be 2.0% this year, 0.6% in 2026, 0.5% in 2027, and 0.4% in 2028-2029.

The Bank believes that Azerbaijan's budget revenues will account for 32-34.5% of GDP and budget expenditures will be 22.8-23.3% from 2025 to 2029. In other words, the forecast regarding stable budget expenditures amid declining revenues has also influenced the surplus expectations.
