“Mutual understanding, solidarity, empathy, strong connections and healthy relationships are of great importance. Therefore, the young generation should be a generation of peace, not war,” said Miguel Ángel Moratinos, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), who also serves as the UN Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia.
He made the remarks during a plenary session entitled “Youth Dialogue: Spotlighting Impact”, held as part of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.
Addressing young people, Moratinos underlined that climate change, wars and artificial intelligence were among the key challenges facing the modern world.
