Champions League draw to determine Sabah’s opponents

On August 27, the draw ceremony for the League phase of the Champions League will be held in Monaco.

Axar.az reports that the ceremony will begin at 20:00 Baku time.

During the draw, the opponents of all 36 teams participating in the League phase will be determined, including Azerbaijan's champion "Sabah."

"Sabah" will have 8 different opponents. The Azerbaijani champion will play 4 matches at home and 4 away. The first round will take place on September 8-10. The Champions League draw will include 29 teams that qualified directly for the competition and 7 winners of the playoff round.

Already 32 of these teams are known, while the names of the other 4 teams will be clarified after today's 4 playoff matches.

It should be noted that during the draw, teams will be divided into 4 pots based on their rankings (9 teams in each). "Sabah," with a lower ranking, will be placed in the last—4th pot. Its opponents will be 2 teams from each pot (8 different teams in total). The clubs will face one opponent from each pot at home and the other away.

As of today, the teams confirmed for the 2026/27 Champions League phase (2 teams from each pot will be "Sabah's" opponents).
