A state of emergency has been declared in four districts and one urban district of Russia’s Chelyabinsk region due to flooding, Reportinforms.
The corresponding publication was posted on the Telegram channel of the regional Ministry of Public Security.
“A state of emergency has been introduced in the Varna, Bredinsky, Kizilsky, Nagaibaksky districts, and the Troitsky urban district. A high alert regime is in effect in the Korkinsky, Chesmensky, Kartalinsky, Troitsky, Uysky districts, as well as in the Miass urban district,” the message says.
According to the ministry, 10 houses and 14 household plots were flooded overnight as a result of the erosion of a dam near the village of Verkhnyaya Kabanka, Plastovsky district. Seven people were placed in the temporary detention center after the emergency.
