Kazakh president announces key foreign ministry appointments

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has made several significant appointments within the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the presidential press service confirmed.

By presidential decree, Roman Vassilenko has been relieved of his duties as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.

He has been appointed Ambassador to Belgium and Head of Kazakhstan’s mission to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). These posts were previously held by Margulan Baimukhan.

Arman Isetov, formerly Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Thailand, has been appointed as the new Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, Tokayev has replaced the country’s ambassador to Kuwait, appointing Yerzhan Yelekeyev in place of Azamat Berdibay.
