The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said on Tuesday it had intercepted and destroyed a drone in Saudi Arabia’s Mecca region, the latest such incident near Islam’s holiest city.
Axar.az reports, citing Al Arabiya, coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki announced the interception in a post on X.
Al-Maliki described that incident as an attempt to target the holy city and warned that the security of Islam’s two holiest sites, in Mecca and Medina, and the pilgrims visiting them was a “red line.”
