Physical clashes broke out between lawmakers from Albania’s ruling Socialist Party and opposition Democratic Party during a tense parliamentary session in Tirana.
Axar.az reports, citing Albanian media, that opposition MP Belind Kellici demanded Prime Minister Edi Rama’s resignation, the dissolution of parliament and the formation of a technical government.
The confrontation escalated when opposition MP Fidel Kreka pushed former minister Ervin Hoxha, prompting parliamentary guards to intervene. Another opposition MP, Flamur Noka, reportedly pulled the microphone away from Socialist MP Taulant Balla and threw papers at his face.
Amid the chaos, Socialist MP Elisa Spiropali was appointed to the Parliamentary Stabilisation and Association Committee.
