The number of Ukrainian refugees who entered Romania after February 10, 2022, has exceeded 16 million.
The Romanian Border Police reported that 16,029,242 Ukrainian citizens entered the country between February 10, 2022 and September 24, 2026, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Romanian authorities have been keeping such statistics since February 10, 2022, referring to the period from February 10 to 24 of that year as the “pre-conflict period”.
Around 200,000 Ukrainian refugees are currently in Romania.
There are no exact figures, as many Ukrainians who received asylum in the country later travel to Western Europe, using Romania as a transit country.
