The Israeli military has expanded its operations in rural areas of Syria’s southern Quneitra Governorate, setting up temporary checkpoints and conducting searches of local residents, according to Syria’s state news agency SANA.
SANA reported that several Israeli military vehicles entered areas near the village of Saida, where temporary checkpoints were established. The agency said Israeli forces searched residents and that drones continued to patrol the area.
A SANA correspondent also reported that Israeli forces entered the village of al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah in northern Quneitra on July 19, establishing a temporary checkpoint and carrying out searches of civilians.
A force consisting of five military vehicles stopped passersby for checks before remaining in the area for some time.
The reports did not provide details on the duration of the operations or whether any arrests were made.
