Teen detained in Turkiye over school attack threat

In Turkiye’s Zonguldak province, police have detained a high school student who threatened to attack a school.

Axar.az informs, citing Turkish media, that the 17-year-old teenager shared messages on WhatsApp.

Law enforcement officers launched an immediate investigation and took the student into custody. During a search of his home, six empty pistol cartridges were seized. In his statement, the teenager said he brought the cartridges from a village as souvenirs and claimed the messages were sent as a joke. It was also revealed that he had previously been expelled from another school for setting off fireworks in class.

It should be noted that on April 14 a shooting took place at a school in Shanliurfa, and on April 15 at a school in Kahramanmarash. In Shanliurfa, a student injured 16 people and then killed himself. At the Kahramanmarash school, an 8th-grade student killed nine people and then took his own life.
