U.S. loses total of seven aircraft in Iran conflict

The United States has lost at least seven aircraft during the war with Iran.

Axar.az, citing CNN, recent incidents involving F-15 and A-10 fighter jets have brought the total number of manned aircraft losses in the conflict to seven.

On March 2, three F-15s were downed by Kuwaiti air defenses in a “friendly fire” incident over Kuwait. All six crew members ejected safely and have since returned to service.

On March 12, a KC-135 tanker crashed in Iraq, killing six personnel. The U.S. military reported that the aircraft was not downed by hostile or friendly fire, but was involved in an accident during operations.

Later, on March 27, Iran attacked Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, destroying a U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry aircraft. At least 10 U.S. service members were injured in the strike, though no fatalities were reported.
