Residents of several blocks in central Gaza City were ordered to evacuate on September 6 following Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) warnings of imminent strikes on two high-rise buildings.
An IDF spokesperson for Arab media, Avichay Adraee, announced on X that the Al-Ruya building and nearby tents at the Beirut intersection and Arab League University Street were designated targets due to what Israel described as Hamas infrastructure inside or near them. Civilians were instructed to move south toward the Mawasi Khan Younis humanitarian zone, Caliber.Az reports.

The evacuation orders also affected the Soussi Tower, a 15-storey building located in front of the UN headquarters, and other nearby educational institutions. Both high-rises are in the same area as the Mushtaha Tower, which was struck on September 5.
Reports from Gaza described chaotic scenes as people rushed to leave the targeted sites.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 21 people, including 13 in Gaza City, have been killed by Israeli forces across the enclave since the morning. It also reported that six people died within the past 24 hours due restrictions on food supplies.
