Prosecutors from the National Anti-Corruption Directorate of Romania have opened a criminal case against Chief of the Defence Staff General Vlad Gheorghiță.
According to investigators, the general is suspected of complicity in the unlawful occupation of a public office.
Earlier, Georgiță appeared for questioning at the military division of the anti-corruption authority, accompanied by a lawyer and declined to answer questions from journalists.
