“The complex regional situation does not affect the development of our cooperation,” said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev during his speech at the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental State Commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia held in the city of Zangilan, APA reports.
“Azerbaijan continues to demonstrate its commitment to the consistent development of partnership with the Russian Federation,” he said.
He noted that, against the backdrop of new challenges facing the region, Azerbaijan provided prompt support for the evacuation of Russian citizens from Iran.
At the same time, assistance continues to be provided for the delivery of Russia’s humanitarian aid to Iran via the territory of Azerbaijan.
Mustafayev emphasized that the second large batch of humanitarian aid was handed over on March 27 in the city of Astara, on the Iran–Azerbaijan border.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that the North–South International Transport Corridor is operating reliably under the current complex conditions, ensuring uninterrupted cargo transportation. According to him, this corridor has proven its resilience and competitiveness in practice.
